While you want to see the all visitors coming lists of your website, you then google it how to see or add hit counter in my website. In wordpress this is so easy. Just download and install a plugins. But the problem arises for the website that is built in raw code or don’t use any CMS. While you are searching in google for the hit counter you will find so many sites that are offering free hit counter codes. This have some pros and cons. The most important problem here is your user may have add blocks installed in their browser and in most of the cases they have. Some most advance users also stops scripts also. Then this hit counter don’t works. So you are not getting the exact visitor lists. Also here is another problem that is the visitors lists is showed in the website directly that you may not want specially at the beginning time when you have a small amount of visitor. Also you don’t get the visitors ip address lists and other information. You  are just getting the visitors amount.

 

Through cPanel of your hosting now easily you can view website visitor statistics. In this tutorial I’ll also explain what the various terms used in AWStats mean.

 

Any kind of statistics programs work in the same way. It read the web server log file and display the data. Two kind of visitor statistics programs available in cPanel. They are AWStats and Weblizer.

 

If you are looking for a quick overview then Weblizer is perfect. It presents simple and limited stats. As our main target is to view the all stats so I will not talk more about Weblizer.

 

Log in to your cpanel.

 

Scroll to the Metrics section, click the Awstats icon.

In most of the case, we put multiple websites under one account. Choose the domain name that you want to see the stats. Click on the view link

Now on the desired page. See at the left bat, you can choose a specific section so see. You can also scroll in the right bar and see all portions.

If you want to jump to a specific portions then navigate on the left and click.

At the top of the page you will see the “Lat Update” date and time. This is to identify that AWStats parsed your server log file. Once a day these logs are parsed.

By default, the stats you will see is the current month and date. If you want to see a specific month’s and year then also you can. Just after the Last Update, you will see Reported period. On the reported period line you can choose the month and year of the stats.

Summary Section

 

Unique Visitors, Number of Visits, Pages, Hits and bandwidth is shown in the Summary section

The unique visitors is your that visitor who visited your website with unique ip addresses. It is an accurate gauge of the number of unique visitors.

 

Number of Visits: Also known as sessions. The total number of visits to the site. If one of your visitor visits your site on Fridy and then comes back on Monday, that’s two visits or session.
