When I started working with WordPress the largest blogging platform all over the world, I struggle with how I can install WordPress in my Mac operating system? I use XAMPP as my local server. So today I will show you how you can install WordPress in your local host at the Mac OS platform.
First, you must have to install the xampp in your Mac. In this article, I will not show you how you can install xampp in your Mac. Then download the latest version of WordPress from their website
Now we have to start our apache server and MySQL database. Click on the launchpad.
From your application’s find out the Xampp and click on it
Click on the manager osx
Provide the password.
Click on manage servers
Now select the apache then start it, the same procedure for MySQL Database also
Now go to your application folder. Browse the htdocs folder.
In the folder create a new folder and rename it as your wish
Then inside this folder paste the downloaded WordPress.
Now extract the file.
Delete the zipped file and bring the all files to the root folder
Now go to your browser, type localhost/ phpmyadmin
Click on Database
Under the Create Database option, you will see a box naming Database name. Click into the box and type your database name. Here I am giving the name uninstall. Click on create and it will automatically create the database naming wp install.
Now take a new tab in your browser and type localhost. A window like this
You will see the folder we created first and paste the WordPress files is red marked. Click on it.
A window like this you will see. Click on Let’s go!
Here you have to fill the all boxes with the correct value. In the database name give the database you created, Here I created the database wp install, the username for your xampp is the root, no password for the user root, The database host will be localhost, and the Table, as I did on the image
Now click on submit
Now open your preferred text editor, Here I am opening sublime text.
Go back to the browser. Copy the texts that is already marked by the WordPress. Follow the red-bordered.
Now paste it to your text editor.
Save the file with the exact name wp-config.php to the htdocs’s your exact folder. After saving the file click on Run the installation
Then fill the boxes with your exact details. After completing the text filling press Install WordPress button.
You are all done. Now enjoy the world of WordPress
